Eyam Hall page

Summer 2011

I now manage the garden and assistants at Eyam Hall - maintaining & replanting to inject more summer colour and winter interest; and encouraging wildlife at the same time.

The house & garden will be open to the public throughout August this year.

Many thanks to the National Trust volunteers, and to Neil, for enabling great leaps forward in the garden this year.

Fruits of the season

A 'catchcrop' of squash helping to keep
weeds down until permanent planting next spring.

Bumper Harvest

Lane's Prince Albert

A helper. Some of this fruit went to a local SureStart centre.

Spring 2010

A picturesque border hid an extensive weed problem. This is now much reduced - achieved without major disruption.

Winter 2010

Early 2010 saw the start of a new phase in the garden's history. I hope to make the extensive borders easier to keep up-to-scratch, whilst preserving the garden character.
