Front Gardens page

Front Gardens often have a range of conflicting demands placed on them - we want to park cars and wheelie-bins on them, but also like them to look smart & attractive. Covering them completely in block-paving or tarmac is rarely acceptable as it creates drainage problems elsewhere, and destroys street character. Here are some examples of interesting front gardens I've planned recently:

Small Cottage Courtyard

A low maintenance, attractive space for a small child to play safely (no rear garden), whilst accommodating a car. An irrigation system waters containers, and flagstones were saved from another garden.

Front garden for wildlife

A range of low-maintenance shrubs and some locally-sourced gravel reduces the mowing and provides food & habitat for birdlife.

Modern

A new-built home adjacent to woodland, required planting to complement the modern glass atrium and reflect the semi-rural location.
