The Design

white peak design The main aims were to create a useable lawn within a low-maintenance wildlife-rich garden, and to improve the access.

After

Lawn

verbena lawn The lawn is now more level, and manageable. It will be edged with dwarf box to add definition. A loose combination of herbs and shrubs retain the country feel, ensuring it sits well with the adjoining fields.

Wild Flowers

wild flower mix The steep slope has been converted to a wild flower meadow. I've sown or planted over 20 native species including wild marjoram and wild carrot, birdsfoot trefoil and common spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza fuchsii).

Many thanks to Martin Wragg & Patrick Higgins of Oaktree Landscapes, for the hard landscaping and turfing work. And to Neil Gladwell at TraditionalRopeCompany.co.uk for advice and good service!
